Upcoming Exhibitions for February and March

This month I have work at Artists' House Gallery as part of their February Exhibit, Women Artists of Philadelphia.  On display are smaller sized landscape paintings as well as a still life, mostly all painted this past summer while I was in the Berkshires.  I was able to study with painter Elizabeth O'Riley and enjoyed soaking up the mountains and fresh air.  Details for the gallery may be found here: Artists' House.

I am also pleased to learn I've had two paintings accepted to In Person: a Juried Exhibition in Celebration of the Human Form. The show, held at the Community Art Center in Wallingford, PA, was juried by Philadelphia painter Doug Martenson.   I was awarded a prize and will find out details this Sunday at the Artists' Reception taking place from 2- 4 pm.  Work will be on view from February 8th - March 15, 2015 in the Duke Gallery at CAC.  Details may be found here: Community Arts Center.

Spring Painting

Motivated by the first blooming flowers after a long winter, it was great to get outside and work without three jackets on.

As I was finishing this up, I observed someone talking on their cell phone; I liked how his belly matched the sky.

Here, I was as much intrigued by the first hints of spring in the foreground as I was by the view of Carpenter's Woods in the background.

It was fun to paint not only a beautiful spot along Cobb's Creek, but to include my friend, painter Alexandra Tyng, in the piece.

I'm participating in the February group show at Artists' House Gallery focusing on landscape. Upcoming Shows in and near Philly

Artists' House Gallery in Old City Philadelphia is exhibiting a group still life show.  I will have several pieces on view.  I hope you can make it to either the First Friday reception on January 3rd from 6 - 8 pm or the artists’ reception on Sunday, January 5th from 1 - 5 pm.  The show runs through the month of January.
